About Us
We are a group of like minded Martial Artists with over 40 combined years of training the martial arts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, Judo, and other Self Defense and Mixed Martial Arts, looking to bring our own blend of American Grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu we call "American Jiu Jitsu"
Grappling is the practice of using your body to control another human. Every culture has their own version of grappling from feet to floor - from Japanese Judo and Jiu Jitsu, Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Freestyle, Greco Roman, Freestyle and Folkstyle wrestling - to other combat sports around the world. At Lucky Cat Grappling Co. we take these various disciplines and techniques and simplify them down into a series of comprehensive curated lessons, delivered in a clean and safe environment for Competitive and Hobbyist martial artists - from day one beginner to competitive experts.

the Lucky Cat

The Lucky Cat, or “Maneki Neko,” is a longstanding talisman representing good fortune and prosperity. While it’s origin is in some dispute, the most famous legend tells the story of a Feudal Japanese Lord named Li Naotaka being beckoned by a calico cat to take rest in a temple when returning to their home from traveling. A violent and dangerous thunderstorm soon exploded overhead, and they credited the cat with their salvation.
We chose the Lucky Cat as our symbol because we believe in making our own luck through hard work and dedication to our craft.

Kids Jiu Jitsu
Our Kids Jiu Jitsu Program is open for kids between the ages of 6-12. The focus of these classes are to build confidence and learn discipline in a safe yet challenging environment. We mix elements of Jiu Jitsu, Grappling, Self Defense and Fun into our Classes offered 3 days per week, both Gi and No Gi!

Gi Jiu Jitsu
Gi Jiu Jitsu follows more traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Techniques. Classes are a mix of learning/ drilling techniques, skill building, live situational sparring and live open rolling.

No Gi Jiu Jitsu
No Gi Jiu Jitsu/ Grappling leans more heavily into a mix of wrestling, additional leg locks, and techniques to emphasize hooks and frames in place of traditional grips.

Competition Class
Comp classes are designed for students looking to up their competitive skills in preparation for sport and competitive Jiu Jitsu, MMA, or just looking for a greater challenge.

Women's Only Jiu Jitsu
Women's Only classes create a safe, supportive, and empowering space where women can train without the social or physical pressures often present in mixed-gender classes. The focus is on self-defense, fitness, and personal growth, with an emphasis on leverage, positioning, and technique over brute strength
All Classes end with an "Open Mat" free training period to train live, ask questions, and work on specific techniques. Live train is encouraged but NOT mandatory.

Lorenzo's Experience
I take both my boys (6 and 8 years old) and they absolutely love it. Steve, Dan and the rest of the trainers are amazing with the kids. My youngest is a bit of a wild child and we have noticed a remarkable change in his attitude since he started training at Lucky Cat. Would recommend these guys to anyone.
