Simulating Live Matches! - Some of our kids BJJ students find themselves on a competitive track. While competition is not mandatory, the added pressure helps our kids learn additional focus and forces real practical application of the techniques we cover in class. To help prepare for such competition we occasionally have one on one supervised matches, where we encourage the other kids to yell and make noise while parents and coaches shout commands to help simulate the pressure of actual competition in a safe and controlled environment.

As a former national judo competitor and ranked D3 college wrestler, Timmy has been excelling in some form of grappling since age 5. With <1yr of bjj experience, Timmy recently reentered the competition scene after a 2 yr hiatus and won double gold in white belt gi and intermediate no gi divisions at JJWL.
